About the event

Join us as we explore some of the most captivating works in the Romantic repertoire. Tonight, we are treated to a programme that spans the rich landscapes of 19th-century music, with bold symphonic visions, lyrical moments, and delightful storytelling.


We will begin with the Overture to Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck. A masterpiece of musical storytelling, this overture sets the stage for the beloved fairy tale with its shimmering, playful orchestration and sweeping melodies. Next, we are transported to the powerful soundscape of Johannes Brahms in his Double Concerto for Violin and Cello. This majestic work brings together two distinct voices in a harmonious dialogue, each soloist – violin and cello – intertwining with the orchestra in a beautiful, emotional exchange. Finally, we will conclude with the monumental Symphony No. 1 by Anton Bruckner.
